The School Resource Officer serves as a liaison between the Fairmont Police Department and the Fairmont Area Schools, including the teachers, administration, students, and families in the district. The SRO's primary responsibility is to respond to and initiate police calls for service within the school district when necessary. The SRO serves in an advisory role to people within the school, and as a guest speaker in classes within the district when requested. The SRO strives to build positive relationships with people affiliated with the school in hopes that these relationships will improve the service that the Fairmont Police Department provides to the community.
